Activity 1 - Top 3 facts about New Zealand
1) New Zealand is also known as Aotearoa which means the land of the long white cloud.
2) The official language isn't only English but it is Maori too.
3) Wellington is the capital city of New Zealand although Auckland is the biggest city.
Activity 2 - My hometown
My hometown is Quezon City, Philippines. Its a great place with parks, swimming pools, forest, and restaurants. It is also a busy city with lots of cars and buses driving through. I love to live there because it's always summer and it's the best place to walk around. Quezon City is very special to me because not only I was born there but seeing people keeping my culture alive makes me proud.
Activity 3 - Digital footprint

Hi Faith! You have such a beautiful name. My name is Susie and I will be commenting on your blogs throughout the Summer Learning Journey this year. I am from Korea and I have just finished my studies in Auckland to become a primary school teacher. I love painting, designing and spending time in nature during my free time. I came to New Zealand when I was exactly your age!
ReplyDeleteWhen did you come to New Zealand from the Philippines? I would love to know what your hobby is and also your favourite food if you have one!
Great job on completing all three activities for Day 1. Auckland indeed is the biggest city in New Zealand - did you also know that more people live in Auckland than in the whole of the South Island?
It is amazing to know that you came from the Philippines, I have been there once myself. In fact, I went to school in Canada when I was 10 years old and my homestay mother was from the Philippines! She invited me to travel with her and I remember having ripe mangos straight off the tall mango trees right in front of our house. It is always great to feel proud about your country and the culture, I am sure you miss Quezon City! How often do you visit? I would love to know about your favourite place in Quezon city so please let me know :)
Well done on creating your own digital footprint Faith. As you said, making the right choices are so important when we are communicating with other online users. Just like when we meet and talk to people in real life, we need to have respect for each other. I am so excited to see more of your blog posts online, let's enjoy our Summer Learning Journey this year! :)
